Zoomst
Born into and inspired by an apocalyptic world, this New Orleans-based art project creates exploratory rock-fusion, embodying sleek futurismic groove. In their maniacal and meticulous approach to sound, these earthlings blend ideas from symphonic rock, swamp funk, trip-hop, and more, enrobed in textured electronic-inspired sound design. Technology and the human spirit fuse to build a cyberfunk discovery machine powered by love.
Their debut album Aboard the Good Ship was released on April 19, 2024. This earth-space-rock-opera showcases Zoomst’s knack for writing unique and enthralling songs that artfully recombine diverse influences with fresh ideas, creating unexpected emotional flavors. The concept explores important questions about the fate of the human race, and the nature of progress, through an enchanting semi-comedic lens illustrated by fascinating lyrics with multiple layers of meaning.
Influenced by the doctrine of improvisation, Zoomst never plays the same show twice. Each performance is passionate, unique, and unpredictable, with the players often as surprised and entranced as the audience. In their continued explorations, Zoomst hopes to bring genuine musical experiences everywhere they go and altruistically inspire humanity for its own betterment.
